Gemtree Records becomes the forefront of The Gemz Studios moving forward

After a long time of thorough decision-making, The Gemz Studios shifts focus as a service-offering portal, and now goes behind Gemtree Records in a more definitive way.

This new focus for the brands (Gemtree Records, & The Gemz Studios) does not mean either one disappears from the surface of the internet, nor the work isn't going to be represented in any shape or form but rather, a rebrand to the entire ecosystem.

Before, it felt as a separate entity from Gemtree Records and while that wasn't a bad approach, it definitely created friction between an artist that is a client to the studio, and an artist that works with the Gemtree Records's artist roster.

We've decided that, in order to get rid of this image of two separate entities one of them needs to be merged onto the other one and the most obvious solution for us was to make Gemtree Records the primary brand instead of the studio.

This whole conundrum also led to a matter of cost of maintenance and investment. Let's be clear with this for a minute: it's not easy to manage, maintain, and develop content for multiple websites. And while, Gemtree Records, and The Gemz Studios still show up as the management behind the websites and content for our artist roster, having one less website makes the work as lot easier in the end.

Don't get us wrong! The Gemz Studios will still be present but the content, and focus will change dramatically in the following months. We're stepping out of the profile of a producer that simply wants to book artists and producers to work with and sell their services, and simply become a resource to a bigger (in time of course) entity.

That entity is Gemtree Records!

Gemtree Records started as a fun idea that later started making a bit more sense as it was inspired by an idea of making an independent label which was originally the support for Flaw's Theorem in 2020.

That was paused for a long while, although it was still under consideration.

Today, we're announcing Gemtree Records as an independent record label which focus on community first, and the music created by the community.

The Gemz Studios now becomes the resource for that community to work on their music and their creative endeavors while Gemtree Records, on the other side, turns into the portal in which artists can later promote their music with the help of the label presence and aesthetics.

This time, we want to focus on building community, not a list of customers who are going to be purchasing one of the services offered by the studio, services which you can still find available, except this time our focus is shifting in another direction.

The direction of not being the salesman in the recording industry, and more of becoming the community artists want to be a part of because the support is real, and the values are there.
